BBC is a Christian-based child care center and is run as a ministry of Faith Christian Church of Mauston, Inc. We are looking for caring staff who believe children are a precious gift from God that need to be cared for in a warm, loving environment.
In our center, you can expect prayer before snack and lunch, as well as non-doctrinal Christian teachings as a part of our daily curriculum through Bible stories, songs, and character trait teaching.

Preschool Teacher
Bright Beginnings Childcare is a ministry of Faith Christian church, offering quality childcare services to families in the surrounding communities. We are seeking a caring and motivated individual who is enthusiastic about Christ-centered education and committed to leading our Explorers preschool classroom at Bright Beginnings Childcare. The Explorers program inspires 3-5 year olds through a nature and faith-based curriculum, while providing nurturing and developmentally-appropriate care. The lead Explorers teacher serves as the primary caregiver, role model, and instructor, and works as a team with the classroom assistant. You’ll have the opportunity to discover alongside our little learners. You’ll grow trusted relationships with families as you provide high-quality care and learning through play-based activities. Bright Beginnings’s learning curriculum provides lesson plans and prepared materials to create experiences of joy-filled discovery for children in care. Training Start Date: August 18, 2025
Responsibilities of Lead Preschool Teacher
Create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for preschool age children.
Manage classroom behavior calmly and consistently while ensuring a safe learning space.
Promote positive and encouraging interactions with children of all ages, ensuring the health, welfare and safety of children at all times.
Follow a classroom schedule and incorporate individualized, small group, and large group learning experiences.
Utilize ECERS and Youngstar goals as a guide for high quality environments.
Implement Bright Beginnings’ lesson plans and learning materials provided.
Support the center’s philosophy in practices and curriculum
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community.
Integrate Christian values into daily routines and model a committed Christian faith.
Participate in ongoing professional development (including online college coursework if provided) to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings when scheduled.
Record observations, developmental milestones, and activity logs for each child through ProCare.
Follow state licensing requirements for paperwork, medical procedures, supervision, and health standards.
Toileting assistance as needed, sanitizing and cleanup procedures, and handwashing/hygiene guidance for children.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma / GED Equivalent
Must complete CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, and Abusive Head Trauma prior to starting in classroom.
Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education
At least 240 hours experience in group child care center, or other approved early childhood or education setting.
Physically, mentally, and emotionally able to provide responsible care for all children.
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, etc.
Frequent tablet use and data entry.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Negative TB Test
Wisconsin DCF Background check clearance
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience in the education sector or related-field
Level 7 or higher on the Wisconsin Registry
OR any of the following:
6 credits in Early Childhood Education, or related field.
48 credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent.
Compensation and Benefits
13 - 14.65 /hour starting wage, dependent upon determined Wisconsin Registry Level and Experience

Assistant Teacher
Assistant Teacher Position available for the 2025 school year, with a training start date of August 27, 2025. We are seeking an individual to join our team, who can provide high quality care and education in a creative and child-centered environment that promotes play-based learning, Christian values, and healthy development. This candidate must enjoy working with young children and be reliable to work their scheduled hours.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Provide safe, nurturing, and attentive care to young children.
•Assist with the implementation of lesson plans and child-centered activities from the center's inquiry and play-based curriculum.
•Implement activities consistent with children's development, interests, and learning goals.
•Maintain data and records, complying with state, and other organization regulations.
•Provide consistent and meaningful communication with parents regarding daily activities and child development.
•Promote a positive atmosphere, where respect and dignity is always given to the child.
•Promote health and safety by following center and state guidelines, remaining alert and attentive in all situations.
•Work willingly and cooperatively within a team.
•Assist in various classrooms as needed.
•Attend staff meetings and continuing education opportunities provided by the center.
•Caretaking duties such as feeding, diaper-changing, and toileting.
•Cleaning, sanitizing, and following basic set-up/take down procedures in the classroom when needed.
•Work consistently as scheduled.

Ideal candidates would have training in early childhood development and previous childcare experience, however, a responsible and caring individual with motivation to learn will be equally considered. Will train the right candidate for the position.
All candidates must complete a WI DCF Background check and will have all required coursework and certifications completed within required timeframe communicated from employer.
